Start with the problem
A feature without a clear problem is just code waiting to fail. We start every project by writing the problem down — and we don’t start writing code until we agree on it.
About theEfficacy
theEfficacy is a software development business. We design and build digital products for organisations that need their technology to do its job — reliably, maintainably, and at a price that makes sense.
Who we are
theEfficacy is a small, focused software development business. We work with founders, operators and teams who care about getting their technology right — not just getting it shipped.
We keep the practice intentionally lean. Smaller scope means each project gets real attention from the people doing the work. No account managers standing between the engineers and the outcome.
The business is currently a brand, not a registered corporate entity. That’s deliberate. We let the work speak before we worry about paperwork.
Design choices are made to be maintained, not to look impressive in isolation.
We measure success in working software and real value, not deliverables for their own sake.
We’ll tell you what’s worth building now and what can wait. No padding the bill.
We choose tools that we trust to perform and that we can actually hand over cleanly.
Development philosophy
A feature without a clear problem is just code waiting to fail. We start every project by writing the problem down — and we don’t start writing code until we agree on it.
Architecture choices made in the first week of a project are almost impossible to undo in the last. We invest that time up front.
Real working software in small increments is the only honest way to know whether a project is on track.
The codebase has to outlive the engagement. We write code that any competent engineer can pick up, not code that depends on the original author.
Fast software feels different to use. We design for performance from day one rather than retrofitting it under deadline pressure.
We explain every meaningful technology choice in plain language before committing to it. The decision is yours.
Tell us about the problem. We’ll come back with a clear first conversation — no pressure, no sales script.
